What’s going on here?

This summer I will be riding my bike across the United States to complete a huge dream of mine and raise money to support Nations Skate Youth. Growing up skateboarding helped me find community, stay active and eventually led me to bike touring. To raise money for my trip and to support Nations Skate Youth, I will be selling custom designed T-shirts.

Nations Skate Youth is an organization which, in their own words “empowers Indigenous youth to embrace their right to self-determination through the positive impact of skateboarding.”

For my route I'll be following the Trans-America bicycle route, which was the first bicycle touring route to cross the U.S. It travels from Astoria, Oregon to Yorktown, Virginia. I chose this particular route because this year marks the 50th year anniversary of the Bikecentennial. 

Bicycle touring/camping is so much fun and I would encourage all of my friends to consider it even if it's just for a night and back. I would also extend my knowledge to anyone who already has a growing interest.
